... by car

Within 15 km there are access roads to the long-distance destinations Cologne / Bremen (A 1), Oberhausen / Hannover (A 2), Kassel (A 44), Frankfurt (A 45), as well as to the destinations in the Ruhrgebiet (B 1) and to the Sauerland (A 46). The gap closure of the A 46 between Hemer and Arnsberg is in planning.

The federal highways B 7 and B 515 intersect in Menden. The B 515, as a north-south route, connects the Hönnetal with the Ruhrgebiet and the B 7 connects the larger cities to the west, such as Hagen and Iserlohn, with Arnsberg to the east.

... by train and bus (ÖPNV)

The Hönnetal railroad runs along the Hönne in Menden and runs every hour to four stations in the town area: (from south to north) Lendringsen, Menden (Sauerland) South, Menden (Sauerland) and Bösperde. Direct train connections exist to Neuenrade, Unna and Fröndenberg.

Bus lines lead to the neighboring towns of Fröndenberg, Wickede, Werl, Arnsberg, Balve, Neuenrade, Hemer, Iserlohn, Unna, Lüdenscheid and Dortmund.

The airport Menden-Arnsberg, which is about 15 km away, is equipped for twin-engine aircrafts. Scheduled flights to the Mediterranean region can be found at Dortmund-Holzwickede airport after a good 20-minute drive and at Paderborn-Lippstadt after a good 45-minute drive. The nearest international airports are Düsseldorf, Cologne-Bonn and Frankfurt.
