Die Deutschen Straßenradmeisterschaften werden traditionell als letzter Formtest der deutschen Tour-de-France-Starter genutzt.

Einer der Höhepunkte und zugleich Auftakt des Rennwochenendes waren die Wettbewerbe im Einzelzeitfahren am Freitag, 24. Juni 2022 rund um Marsberg. Die Elite der Männer und Frauen sowie der U23 waren am Start.
