Plettenberg: Road Bike Tour M

The 63 km long road bike tour starts in the center of Plettenberg. From there it goes on the Königtraße out of town in the direction of Oesterau. Via the well-built L697, the Märkischer Kreis is left in the direction of Windhausen (Olpe). To get to Windhausen, the first ascent of about 190 meters in altitude must be overcome. The following descent to Attendorn is partly on new asphalt, but has some quite sharp curves that require a high degree of attention.

Across Attendorn, you now follow Hansastraße and Kölner Straße in the direction of JVA Ewig.Finally, you reach the L539, which turns off to the right, in the direction of Valbert. The steadily slightly ascending country road runs through Petersburg, Listerscheid and Mühlhofe along the Ihne and requires a great deal of effort to maintain a high cutting speed.

However, not too many grains should be burned, because after passing through Halver follows the climb to the highest mountain of the tour. Up to the top of the Nordhelle, it is necessary to overcome about 250 meters of altitude. Once at the top, a fast descent begins with several tight curves on a very well paved and wide country road. There it is a matter of gathering strength for a short, lively uphill sprint along the Katerlöher Weg.

The descent through the residential areas of the municipality of Herscheid leads along the open-air swimming pool. You leave the town in the direction of Lüdenscheid. Speed can be built up on the L561 as far as the village of Hardt, before finally crossing the Schwarze Ahe in the direction of Werdohl. Although the L879 is mostly single-lane in this area, it is also well asphalted over long stretches. Due to the slightly sloping course, a high cutting speed can be achieved until the arrival in Altenmühle.

Through the town of Werdohl, the route rejoins the B236, which is finally followed in the direction of Plettenberg. The largely flat and well asphalted federal road provides a good basis for using up the last reserves of energy.

Once you arrive in Plettenberg-Eiringhausen, you can't miss a detour to the ice cream parlor at the train station. Now it goes to the conclusion through the underpass in the direction of Breddestraße and subsequently via Bahnhofstraße in the direction of the city center.
