Marsberg
The tour starts in Marsberg and leads near the river Diemel first to Westheim. The Westheim Brauerei located there can be visited by appointment.
The route continues via Oesdorf and Meerhof to Dalheim. The baroque Dalheim Monastery from the 15th century now houses the LWL State Museum of Monastic Art with numerous exhibitions. The 7.5 hectare monastery garden, the inn and the monastery store attract many visitors.
Soon you reach the climatic health resort and Kneipkurort Bad Wünnenberg. Even from a distance you can see the Unterstadt in the green, high above it towers the old town center with its landmarks, the church and the historic fortified tower.
Through Fürstenberg with the Fürstenberg Castle you cycle through green countryside via Essentho back to Marsberg.
Here it is worth visiting the Besucherbergwerk Kilianstollen, a disused copper mine, where you can marvel at colorful sintering in bright colors.
Marsberg - Westheim - Oesdorf - Meerhof - Dalheim - Helmern - Fürstenberg - Essentho - MarsbergSince 2015, the entire Sauerland region has been signposted with the junction system: www.radeln-nach-zahlen.de/de/Das-Konzept
A rescue point system is installed throughout the region (Soest district, Hochsauerlandkreis district, Märkischer Kreis district, Olpe district and Siegen-Wittgenstein district). Rescue points can be found, among other things, on the information boards at the junctions of the Südwestfalen cycling network.
