Junction 48, near market place Brilon
From the rustic Hiebammenhütte into the Kalkkuppen: Bizarre-looking stone monuments protrude from the extensive meadows and Weide.
Then it goes into the Aatal with its seven mills. Finally, in Alme, the natural beauty of the Almequellen awaits you: more than 100 individual springs spring from the limestone of the headwaters, which unite to form the Alme and flow northwards.
A short detour to the site of the Iguanodon, the "prehistoric cow", in Nehden also provides insights into the geological history of the region. You can admire a model in the Museum Haus Hövener after your return.
From junction 48 at Altenbürener Straße, go once across the Brilon market square. Follow the general bicycle signs (red bicycle on white background). Cross Friedrichstraße in the direction of the train station. Before the tracks, the path turns right into Galmeistraße. Go straight on until you turn right again into Ammertenbühl Street. Then cross Hoppecker Straße, continue above the Brilon hospital to junction 13, at the Gruß country inn. Before the underpass, turn right again up to Hoppecker Straße, cross it once and head towards Petersborn. At the entrance to the village, the path leads to the right to the Hiebammen Hütte through the beautiful Hilbringsetal valley. After passing the Hiebammen Hütte, go across the hikers' parking lot, past the refuge - use the left-hand, slightly uphill path.Straight ahead past the quarry and cross the B7. (junction 11). About 100m after the crossing the path turns left to the Aamühlen and you reach junction 51. Then you pass fields and meadows to junction 9 (Fünf Brücken). There you follow the Almeradweg via Wülfte to Alme (junction 8). In Alme you can make a detour to the Almequellen. The route continues via Nehden (dinosaur site) and Thülen to junction 7, near the airfield. There the cycle path leads back to Brilon (junction 12) and on to the market place (junction 48).
